DEVELOPED

NOT SURE WHERE TO BEGIN WITH THIS ONE.  I JUST DEVELOPED THREE DISPOSABLE CAMERAS (WALGREENS BRAND); AND I HAVE A LOT OF FAVORITES, BUT IN DIFFERENT CONTEXTS.  I DO BELIEVE THAT THESE FOUR ARE MY MOST FAVORITE.

CHECK IN ON MY TUMBLR PAGE FOR THE MORE CONCEPTUAL STUFF, AND MY FLICKR PAGE FOR THE WHOLE STEEZ.

urban

i'm sure you can imagine this photo was taken with some special lens, in the middle of nowhere, texas, on a warm summer night; but alas it was taken right here in the heart of the mission district on a cool winter evening, in the backyard of a bar ... with my iPhone.

men and their details

above: my friend Tomo Saito (an amazing photographer). he found this shirt, with the cacti already cut out of the chambray yoke, at a thrift store. i mean ...above: "a private man, living a life of genius" - aka an anonymous friend who preferred to be called that. he is a painter, hence the paint. gorgeous color story. well done "private man".

bird dude @ 24th street bart station

Saturday, April 30, 2011

lately i've been obsessed with all of the streets east of mission street between 17th & and below. so many hidden spots, and so quiet and peaceful compared to the hustle of the mission heart. i love the combination of the industrial and mexican vibe. not that this photo has anything to do with either. (ps i got a new lens)

bag or no bag

i'm really fortunate/grateful/amazed that i only live half a block from bi-rite market. i got a compliment at work today on the color combination of my outfit (the middle shirt is vintage light blue-hard to tell in the photo), so i was planning on shooting it when i got home. (don't worry, the stories eventually intertwine). after a brief shopping trip at bi-rite, i was asked if i wanted a bag. i said 'no thank you' because of the very few goodies i had picked up. on my short walk home, vegetables and groceries in tow, someone stopped me on the street and said "god, i love san francisco"; pointing at my stalk of broccoli and random grocery items i had loose in my hands. i almost cried/hugged him. it's moments like these.

repetitive.

jacket: eudon choi

i posted this photo on my tumblr page the other day (re-blogged from fay frisco finds but originally seen on style bubble back in november - amazing article), and since then, day by day, my love for this jacket grows and grows. maybe it's the gorgeous washed out model who wears it so perfectly (that i don't look anything like, so can i pull this off?), but mostly i think it's the placement of the varied tonal utility pocketing. it's a new take on the over-saturated/much too literal military trend, that (much to my disapproval) ended up taking over the mass market industry (don't get me wrong, i am all about authentic military, it's when it gets overdesigned by certain huge companies, with gross pilly fabric, that upset me).
anyway! i got side-tracked! since posting it on my tumblr, my love has grown. yesterday i even printed it out and pinned it to my desk area as you see here. (yup next to it, is that karla spetic skirt i have been obsessing over). should i add this jacket to my wishlist or are the epaulets too much?

please note my new banner/logo. thoughts?

i like my new shirt.

i was testing out my make shift tripod the other night so i could take photos for my etsy shop (selling a bunch of vintage stuff! click here!) and accidentally took a photo that i unexpectedly really like, of my new shirt .. that i really like. it's from zara and i got it on super sale.

la garconne (does it to me again).

i literally just received this e-mail from la garconne about their new lookbook l'objets, and literally died when i saw this photo. i'm very sad that the striped bag is not in stock yet. i'm going to hawaii in a week; can't you just picture me frolicking on the beach in this outfit (or at work maybe with this madewell blazer thrown over, or possibly this A.P.C. jacket)? too bad i would never wear a precious proenza schouler dress in the wild. enjoy (but don't die).

Monday, January 17, 2011

i spent sunday 1 | 16 | 11 in the marin headlands exploring. it was one of those days where you are unsure if everything surrounding you is real. it started with a very foggy and cold morning and suddenly the fog started to roll away gracefully ..

N.I.C.E. collective launch

tuesday night i attended the N.I.C.E. collective launch party/store opening on church & market in san francisco. the party was crowded, but i was able to get some shots with my iPhone. i loved the military/NASA/sterile vibe it had going on, they sort of created their own army in a way. i also didn't realize that the creators of N.I.C.E collective had previous careers in science, so it all started to make full-circle sense after a while (read their history here). the store concept and clothing matched seamlessly. i can't wait to browse the store again.above: the dressing room (!!!)above: dressing room mirrors
